So since band practice cancelled I decided to grab a last minute ticket, glad I did.
First night of their tour, they are playing headline shows on off nights from supporting Aerosmith. No desire to see Aerosmith, so this worked out well. I got there around showtime (8 PM). But took forever to make to the venue, due to beach traffic. I need to leave earlier next time. Both nearby parking lots were full, so I had to park at some guys house for $10. Luckily my car was still there when I left
8:20 I got in. Opener Charm City Devils were finishing up. I only heard 2 songs by them, so I can't really comment on their set overall. Checked out the merch set after. Just t-shirts, their new CD is not out yet. I already have a Slash T, and $35 was a bit steep, so pass.
9 PM. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators hit the stage. Full tilt rockers, G N R classics. One Velvet Revolver song. 3 songs from the upcoming record. 2 had never been played live before. Both very cool. "World On Fire" is online now and was played.
Todd Kerns sang Dr. Alibi to give Myles a break. Not as good as last time at HOB in Boston when Lemmy came out to sing it-but still decent They had a couple mic issues for some reason, but not enough to slow them down.
Slash was awesome. They played for 2 hours and it was well worth it. Good times!
