I had two half beers at my sister's yesterday. A couple of those hipster microbrew IPAs that come in 16oz cans with the very subtle wrap-around paper artwork. Frankly, I don't want a pint of beer at a time. I'll always go for a 12oz can or, in this case, splitting a couple pint cans with my brother in law.

I took a vacation day today. I almost started at 10am after my wife and I got home from breakfast. I figured I better wait on did some research on the discography of John Lee Hooker instead. I am usually good for 8-12 hours depending on what I am drinking and how many people I am drinking with.

I remember once when my wife tried to keep up with me at Pat O'Briens in New Orleans as I was on a mission to have a drink in every style glass that they used so I could buy it and take home with me. She passed out after she threw up. I went back out for dinner and more drinks. Granted, I was only about 30 or so back then.

There is something to be said for practicing a lot.

A few years ago during our annual family reunion/vacation up on Lake Huron, my sister had a cooler stocked with these things while we were all hanging out on the beach... I just thought they were cans of regular seltzer water, so i was interspersing these with my standard vacation day drinking routine of pounding beers all day, because I thought it'd be a good way to '"stay hydrated"... oops

I am taking it easy today. I only had 4 beers over 3 hours which is a really slow pace for me. I had my first covid shot yesterday around noon so I am trying to behave today. Tomorrow may be a different story.
