Black Crowes changed date to 9/17
Got my money back and bought Bob Mould tix for that night.

GBV announced NYE gig at mew venue in Brooklyn. Thinking about that.

I said I would never go back to Terminal 5 because it sucks but a friend just grabbed
IDLES- 10/16. So I guess I’m going back…..

Or just cancel family vacation...buy a VW bus and go sell grill cheese on Rise Against/Descendents tour. I wonder what I'd look like with dreadlocks?

Hate to burst your bubble, but in the fine print the Menzingers are not playing those first three shows even though it is basically in their hometown. I dont quite get it.

The biggest injustice was me missing the chance to see Field Day in Orlando and Tampa on March 13th and March 14th!

Oh, and I saw MIKEY ERG and NATO COLES play acoustic at Old Stanley's Bar in Brooklyn a couple days ago. Was a lot of fun.

I watched Steve Shelley (SY), Steve Wynn and Jason Victor (Dream Syndicate), plus Ernie Brooks (Modern Lovers' bassist) play a bunch of covers at a block party in Queens. Lou Reed, Modern Lovers, Roxy Music, Arthur Russell, Dream Syndicate. Fun way to spend Father's Day.

FOO FIGHTERS- MSG- 6/20

A friend got a company box last minute so 10 of us got to drink & eat for an hour before the show and even though I'm not really a fan of FF they brought the Rawk to NYC last night.
Me & 18K of my fellow NY'ers got the rock-show we needed desperately and two-and-a-half-hours of all the Grohl you could take. LOL
Great seats, awesome time with our best friends.
Watching Pat Smear stand there and play a Bee-Gees cover was surreal......
Not as surreal as Dave Chappelle singing Radiohead's "Creep" but pretty close.....

Company box is probably the only way I'd do one of those big arena shows now. I did it once for the Misfits in 2018 and had such a great time.

I'm going to see my friend's band play in a few hours at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge as part of this event:

Dropkick Murphys and Rancid (with the Bronx opening) are playing Forest Hills Stadium at the end of August. This shows screams "last minute discounted tickets!" For 20 or 30 bucks I'd go see the first two bands and then get an early start on the subway home.

Stay clear of the pit when The Bronx plays. It gets rough.

Also, Rancid and DKM alternate who closes the show so you may not get what you wish for as the #2 band. They play a combo encore with members of both bands on stage usually playing cover songs.

I'm waiting to see if Wilco/Sleater-Kinney around the same time there is the same deal, honestly. Tix right now are crazy expensive, but I've never paid more than 5 bucks to see anything at that venue (been there only 3x, though) since there are frequently so many tickets given away, discounted, etc. It's a great venue, too, my favorite outdoor one probably and definitely of that size here in NYC.

Excellent; it's been almost 21 years since I've seen them (it was the tour for The New America and The Promise Ring opened) and the last time was 18 blocks north at the now-demolished Roseland Ballroom (where I also saw them in '93 with Green Day opening). I went to college with the bassist of WoW, but I've never seen them. I missed their set a few years ago when they opened for Jawbreaker since I got there late.

Yep, my tix for Field Day last April are honored for the rescheduled date:

Field Day/Bastardous/King for a Day/Extra Arms @ Small's, Hamtramck, MI 10/2/21

That's the only "solid" showI have on my schedule so far... I'm sure it will fill in with other stuff before then.

Nice.

Descendents/ Rise Against. 7/30 Pier 17? Or whatever. New venue on the west side right on the water.
Quicksand - 9/29. Stone Pony
Osees- Warsaw. 9/25
Bob Mould - Webster Hall. 9/17
Dinosaur jr. - Brooklyn Steel. 11/20
GBV- NYE. Brooklyn Made
Hopefully:
IDLES- Terminal 5. 10/16. I hate the venue but a friend said he was getting tix and I really want to see these guys. So maybe I’m going to this......
Possible:
Judas Priest- Prudential center. Oct. I think. Maybe a last minute trip with friends if there are tix left.

I'd like to see them as a band if/when Evan is 100% (ok, maybe 85%) into the performance. I've seen him like 7 times solo over the past 15 years and it's been so hit and miss. Hope he is doing well, some of the shit he posts online is pretty fucking confusing/worrying.

Just booked Jazz Fest in New Orleans.

10/8-10.

Crazy lineup of big stars, fest- circuit regulars and Nola acts.

Tons of stuff my wife likes and some I dig. i.e. Stevie Nicks. Lol.
We’re going with a group of friends and got passes that we can come & go all day.

Nice way to spend Columbus Day weekend.

That sounds like fun. I started a brief music history site seeing to do list for New Orleans. I need to firm up the to do list into an itinerary and figure out a cool temp time of year to visit there again.
