It's a super fun show. They fit perfectly together.

I second this. I saw them together in 2017 and it was spectacular.

Just read that Mastodon, Baroness and Kvelertak will play in June 2022 in a town not too far away.

The Lemonheads last night at Irving Plaza were absolutely amazing. Evan was on point. The band, tight. His mid-show acoustic set was the best I’ve seen him do, as a matter of fact this is by far the best Lemonheads show I’ve ever seen......I’ve only caught them live four times in 30 years but still, they were freaking awesome.
On at 9:45 amd over at 11:30. Lots of songs, some covers of course and way too many cocktails. I must have polished of almost an entire bottle of Glenlivet 12 yr. old.

Dinosaur Jr. were great Saturday night, as always it’s good to see Scannest & Pilster.

11/26- Human Impact st The Market Hotel. After cooking for Turkey day this will be a cool way to finish out a big week of shows.....

I saw another friend was at the Lemonheads show last night and she said the same thing. I've avoided them live because I've heard how hit or miss it can be. I saw some clips from earlier in this tour that sounded BAD. I'm glad it was awesome last night!

My friend who was there said the exact same thing; kinda wish I would've gone. I had no idea Mikey Jones (from Swervedriver and the great local band Heaven) was on drums; that would've sold me right then and there. I'm guessing that had a lot to do with it. I like that you mentioned an acoustic set, too. The one time I've ever seen Dando, he played a solo set at World Cafe Live and was incredible. I really liked his cover of "The Outdoor Type," especially. This was maybe 15 years ago?

Human Impact/Live Skull tonight at Market Hotel

LS wasn’t on this show originally. I’m not a huge fan, they are strictly 2nd-tier to Sonic Youth/Swans/Lydia Lunch as far as NYC downtown noise-rock. Still excited tho, Human Impact are great

Shame no one invited me. I would have enjoyed a night out. Oh well. Maybe next lifetime.

PS: The thing about Live skull vs. Sonic Youth was that at one time, they were on equal ground. But then Sonic Youth got better (ie: more disciplined and more melodic.) Live Skull stayed dark and haunting, but there was an absence of hooks.

Hoodoo Gurus cancelled their May 2022 Boston show. I now only have 4 shows scheduled for 2022. That's pathetic

Rose Tattoo-The Vault-New Bedford, MA-2/19/22
Judas Priest-Tsongas Arena-Lowell-4/4/22
Circle Jerks/7 Seconds-Paradise-Boston, MA-4/7/22
Ted Nugent-Hampton Beach Casino-Hampton, NH-8/20/22
Peter Hook-Paradise--Paradise-Boston, MA-8/23/22
Mission UK-Brighton Music Hall-Brighton, MA-10/12/22

Ok-that's better

Forgot about The Mission UK since not until October 2022

Thanks! Sun Ra Arkestra opened and Todd Barry was the comedian. It felt very much like a "classic" YLT Hanukkah show if such a thing can be said. Of course, the Arkestra joined them for half of their set, many covers were played. If anyone is interested, I made a playlist featuring the setlist and if YLT's version isn't recorded or on Spotify, I put in originals, including songs by The Ramones, The Cramps, and The Shangri-Las.

Did you end up making it? I couldn't do it, but I am going to see New Pornographers play Mass Romantic in full tonight at Webster Hall Should be f'n' great; my favorite album of theirs; haven't seen them since the Challengers tour in 2007 and haven't been to the venue since 2006, so it'll be my first time in the newly redesigned one. It's gonna be an '00s indie nostalgia night. Can't wait!

I did not make it. Couldn't get it together for a solo trip. Enjoy tonight, should be awesome.

Same; couldn't make it out for Field Day, either, but New Pornographers were fantastic; Mass Romantic in full for the first set and an entire set of 2003-2019 material following it with many of the live versions bettering the studio ones. I'm going to have to give some serious listens to their later, more synth-heavy records.

Genesis- 12/5 MSG

Last minute tix dropped into my lap so off to the Garden.......

Yes, Phil sits in a chair the whole show. It doesn’t really matter. His voice isnt what it used to be but he pulls it off with two backup singer dudes. The band sounded fantastic, Mike & Tony haven’t missed a beat and young Nick Collins is as good as his dad on drums.

Really great setlist, stayed heavy on the 80’s stuff but other than the shitty “Invisible Touch” no real clunkers.
I enjoyed this show very much, had great seats and MSG is always an excellent venue for any concert.
“I know what I like in your wardrobe” & “The Carpet Crawlers”(last song) were the highlights for me.

I enjoyed last Monday's show so much that I decided to try to get a ticket for last night's Yo La Tengo Hanukkah closer (night 8) at Bowery Ballroom and thankfully, I lucked out and snagged one on craigslist for a good price (below cost). Anyway, it was amazing. Eleventh Dream Day opened and now I regret not buying one of their records. I'd seen them before, but not in 15-16 years and I forgot how great they are.

They were awesome, as was Joe Pera, the comedian. So incredibly deadpan funny. YLT played a much more rockin' set than the more meditative/mellow set they played on night 2 with the Arkestra. EDD joined them for most of the set, too. Tons of bangers; "Stockholm Syndrome," "Deeper into Movies," the perennial favorite "Autumn Sweater" and a blistering "Sister Ray." Oh yeah and a Fugs cover, too! Encore was with Cynthia and Pat from Bush Tetras playing "Dum Dum" and "Too Many Creeps" and another VU classic ("Run Run Run") which they covered on a late '90s 7". Jaw dropping. These shows are really one of the best things about living in NYC.
